Meet the Team
Andy and Abby Miller
Captains Andy and Abby Miller lead the Tampa Salvation Army Church in addition to directing the Army’s services in throughout Hillsborough county.
Andy, a sixth generation Salvation Army Officer, holds degrees from Asbury University, Asbury Theological Seminary, and Southern Methodist University. He has written two books: Holistic Hospitality (2015) and Stay the Course (2016). The Miller house is busy with their three children: Andy IV, Titus, and Georgia. Andy loves to think, read, and strategize about the mission of the church when he’s not playing with his kids or rooting for the Chicago Cubs.
Abby, a Georgia girl at heart, holds degrees from Asbury University and Asbury Seminary. She loves the challenges of family life and gets energized over seeing people grow in their relationship with Jesus. She has a new found love of snuggling with the family guinea pig.
Brenden is the Program Assistant/Assistant Kettle Coordinator and helps with youth programs, podcasts, music, and media. He is a graduate of Asbury University in Kentucky and grew up in Ashland, Ohio. He is excited about getting to know people in Tampa and helping families to win at home. Brenden is married to Sarah and moved to Tampa in August 2018. In his spare time he enjoys listening to music, riding his unicycle, and dabbling in computer programming.
Sarah Moore is the Christian Education Director at Tampa Salvation Army Church. She oversees all children's activities, including SA Kids, FUSE nights, VBS, and Music and Arts Camp. Sarah is passionate about working with children and teens to help them learn about music, themselves, and God! She is married to Brenden and they live in Tampa, though originally Sarah is a Kentucky girl. Sarah also enjoys watching musicals, playing with her cat, and Facetiming her family in Kentucky.
Terry Wood is the Corps Music Director and currently conducts the brass band. He is originally from Leesburg, FL, and since 2015, Terry has lived in Tampa Bay and attends the University of South Florida. He currently performs with the USF Wind Ensemble and Tampa Brass Band, as well as the Florida Divisional Band and Southern Territorial Band of The Salvation Army. Terry is a product of many people who have invested in him and he is passionate about teaching others to give their best to the Lord. In his spare time Terry enjoys collecting vinyl records of which he has over 2,500 albums.
